They were a political band, using singer Jello Biafra's satirical and humorous lyrics to expose various problems both in their home state of California and abroad. The band began releasing music on their own label, Alternative Tentacles, and were instantly recognized as one of the best and most important bands on the new scene. They were busy consistently touring and releasing new music and after
